Preparing for the move to middle school

In Year 4, we follow the school policy of delivering a creative curriculum, including subjects outlined in the National Curriculum. We also visit our Forest School area regularly to develop outdoor learning.

Year 4 offers opportunities throughout the year for extra-curricular learning, including our annual three-day residential to Kilve Court, learning to play a brass instrument and participating in the Year 4 summer production.

  • Somerset Heritage Service Visit Year 4

The Year 4s enjoyed a Victorian session with the Somerset Heritage service yesterday (6th December). All children had the opportunity to make a Christmas cracker and cornucopia for their Christmas trees as well as dressing up in traditional Victorian costumes and playing parlour games.

  • Year 4 Sports Festival

Year 4 enjoyed the annual sports festival at Fairlands yesterday (Thursday 21st June). They had the opportunity to sample several new sports activities that the Year 8s had kindly organised. Our thanks to them for inviting us and well done to our children for demonstrating excellent teamwork!

  • Year 4 Kilve Residential

Another wonderful time was had by all during last week’s annual Kilve Residential days for Year 4. The weather was beautiful, the activities engaging and entertaining and the food was delicious as always!

A huge well done to all the children who came for being friendly, polite and working brilliantly as a team – they were a delight to look after and did us all proud.

  • Year 4 Production

Congratulations to all Year 4s who acted brilliantly in this year’s production, The Amazing Adventures of Superstan.

Both nights proved to be great successes and we are extremely proud of all of the children for their commitment, dedication and acting prowess.

Thank you to you all for supporting us with the preparation of costumes and props as well as your kind generosity on both nights. We’re very pleased with the feedback you have given us and we look forward to another next year!
