Information & Communication Technology

  • Information and Communication Technology is taught throughout the curriculum and is used to support and enhance the children’s learning. All classes have regular access to the computer suite where they are taught specific skills and use the computers for word processing, as databases, for problem solving, to carry out research or communicate with others.

In other subjects, ICT resources such as CD ROMs, websites and computer simulations are used to enhance the children’ s learning. Each classroom is equipped with an interactive whiteboard which can be used to support teaching and learning throughout the day. Digital cameras, flip video cameras, programmeable toys and a range of other accessories are available to support children’s learning and develop their skills. We see ICT not only as a key to future learning, but also as an important element of daily living and so we aim to make every child proficient in its use.

E-Safety forms an integral part of the curriculum and pupils are taught about the importance of using the internet safely and their rights and responsibilities. In the Reception classes the teachers have a class blog which will help keep you informed of the activities your children are taking part in and Learning Links for all year groups are available on our website.
